2006 Jean-Michel Stephan Côte Rôtie En Coteaux Vieilles Vignes
En Coteaux Vieilles Vignes is produced only in select vintages, sourced from the oldest Serine vines in Bassenon, and is supplemented with 15% of old-vine Viognier.
"This is from a one-hectare holding planted entirely to petite serine. Depp ruby. Rich blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate aromas are brightened by fresh flowers and graphite. Deep, roasted dark fruit flavors are supported by solid, gripping tannins, which add a measure of seriousness to the ripe, chewy and very persistent finish."
- Josh Raynolds, Vinous (2008)
