2016 Tyler Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Chardonnay
We are down to the final bottlings of Tyler's 2016 and 2017 vintages. Winemaker Justin Willett not only works with historic vineyards but their rarest parcels. Both his Sanford & Benedict Chardonnay and Bien Nacido Pinot Noir come from original, own-rooted vines planted in the early 1970s.
These wines are in their prime right now, especially the 2016 bottling. Antonio Galloni's review describes it best:
"Perfumed and exquisitely layered, the 2016 [Sanford & Benedict Chardonnay] captures all the qualities that make S&B Chardonnays so alluring. Orchard fruit, white flowers and mint develop in the glass. Above all else, though, the S&B is a wine of textural elegance."
